What about my video playback issues? How do I disable system restore?

And when I do a system restore, I have to do it in safe mode or it will fail.

Control panel, system, system restore tab, disable it.

Then scan with AVG and let me know what it picks up, then we will work with the video playback

Initial scan didn't turn up with anything. We will see if it pops up later.

And now my playback is just fine. Could that have been related to the system restore?

some infections get backed up by system restore , since they usually reside in system directories. I usually find a lot of infections in the system restore when a system is hit bad.

Also upon looking at your log I see Mcafee, Nod32 and AVG. do you have all 3 of these antivirus programs on there? If so then just pick one and uninstall the other two.

When you have more then one anti virus , they conflict with each other.

I do not think this is a virus, in the case of a virus, Identify the problem, disable system restore, run a scaner in safe mode, if you dont see the problem; run a spyware scaner, turn on system restore; enable every scaner you have, they work, an anti virus software doesnt conflict with another, the definitions may read bad information or they may use the same port, that has to do with an aspect of the program, I refer to the more popular programs. `
