China Targets `Foreign Forces' in Web Crackdown

China plans to crack down on online information from "overseas hostile forces" which, when translated, means "everyone."

The move is part of efforts to step up a crackdown on online smut, gambling, fraud and other offenses, said Wang Chen, chief of the Cabinet's Information Office, according to the official Xinhua News Agency. "We will strengthen the blocking of harmful information from outside China to prevent harmful information from being disseminated in China and withstand online penetration by overseas hostile forces," Wang was quoted as saying.

Right rather than crack down on internal sources of such "Non State sanctioned internet use" they are going to hammer down on people who accidentally view page containing information on embarrassing information about a party official who end up spending time in a correctional institute. Again another farce of a pseudo workers paradise.
