Can't open and run Norton Removal Tool

I have been dealing with the blizzard tech support guy for weeks now, trying to figure out why my starcaft II will not run, after they released a new patch for the game. He now tells me that I should uninstall my Norton 360 Premier (I have Version 4.0), so I followed his instructions downloading the Norton Removal Tool (by Symantec) and put it on my desktop. When I try to run the tool it asks for my permission, so I click continue, then the "open with" window pops up asking me to choose the program you want to use to open this file and the only program it shows is Adobe Reader 9.4, but when I click on Adobe to open/run it, it says "there was an error opening this document, the file cannot be found." I appreciate any help you can give me, I wish it wasn't so complicated sometimes, I just want to get this off my computer properly and hopefully I can play SC2 again! The file name of the removal tool is symNRT.exe Thanks
 
Yeah you shouldnt have Adobe Reader associated with your executables. That is not right. You will have to fix that.


Backup your registry before you do any of these (How to Backup the Registry in Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows XP)

Depending on which OS you have (you never said in your OP):

These are just zipped registry files. Double click the .reg file inside the zip file, and confirm that you want to merge the entry.

I've cleaned infections off of computers that change the extension association for .exe's, and those have worked on them for that purpose...should probably be the same concept. But like I said, make a backup of your registry beforehand.

This was suggested by CarnageX a couple days ago for someone with a similar issue.
