Dexterium,

The best way is to use some file shredder software. Google can get you.

To get into Recovery console,

1) Press 'del' or anyother 'F#' keys when you switch on your computer to get into BIOS.
2) Change the boot device/sequence order ...to make the CD-rom first boot device, then HDD and then the rest. save the bios settings and exit.
3)Now insert your windows XP cd into you CD-drive and start your computer.
4)Your computer now 'boots from it[CD]. You will get a blue screen....and from their on ..you can get into DOS ..

Dexterium,

Oh great! :( . The only way now is to then use the shredder software...

From there you can't get into DOS. DOS is obsolete.

When you press 'R' , you will get the prompt...rite? can't he just use the prompt there to delete those files? or am i missing something?

probably because you are not logged into winXP as an administrator. Or it is because you are using the home version of winXP
