can virus affect game installations ?

can not install a brand new game on my pc, the lord of the rings, battle for middle earth,

there is sometimes alot of text flashing by in the status line of Internet Explorer, i suspect a virus and i think the virus may be affecting the game installation,

i do have the actual game disks,

do you know what this might be about ??

If you see things in IE, it is more than likely adware/spyware rather than a virus but if you are not careful enough and let spyware on your system then there is obveriously a chance of viruses.

Yes, viruses can effect many things on a PC such as installations and general preformance.

We would need more infomation to help you out, such as what security programs you run and what your system specs are.
