One, don't use IE because most of them are active X.
Two, download and use AdAware SE and Spybot faithfully WITH updates! And I mean no less than 2 times a week.
Three, download SpywareGuard and SpywareBlaster and then update a minimum of 2 times a week.
Also run your A/v a minimum of weekly and keep your firewall up to date. Make sure all your critical patches and hotfixes are up to date for your version of windows. And do NOT rely on Windows or your router or your ISP for your protection.
