antivirus/spyware program(s) needed

Afternoon all,

Just finished reinstalling windows(XP Home), and I'm looking for suggestions on am antivirus and a spyware program.

I am currently running AVG's free antivirus, but have not installed anything else.

I was doing some research and stumbled onto Avira antivirus. What are your thoughts of this program?

also, I was considering CCleaner. Or is this more for when something happens? I want something that is good daily program, that won't make me have to reset other programs and what not.
