" Antivirus Action " Virus Problem?

Hey guys, i am working on a laptop for a buddy of mine. He got this " Anti-Virus Action " virus thing. I did the usual onslaught of things and removed the virus and all its entities, but the internet on the computer isn't working. It connects to the network, but won't load a page on IE. Any help?

Okay what is your "usual onslaught" of actions? They are different for each person. how do we know what your specific actions are? How can we be sure that the infection is actually gone? Certainly sounds like it is still there.

Well i used Rkill to stop the process, ran Malware Bytes for removal and re-installed the anti-virus and ran it, and ran spy-bot. Ran all of them again and nothing came up the second, where as malware bytes came up with three infections and i removed them. Am i doing something wrong? this what i read to do for this virus?

Do you have the option to run Combofix? What about running HiJack This and posting its logs for us to see?
