Which Anti-Virus Should I use for my Laptop?

Regardless of cost, which would be the best anti-virus software for me to use,

Im currently using norton which is obviously not free, but I've heard that even the free software like AVG is better than norton... A lot of people seem to be downing norton, although its always done its job for me.

If anyone can give any feedback it would help me alot
