Using a new computer that came with IE7 (internet explorer 7) and amazed at how slow it is. Its loads up fine, but browsing pages is slow?
WHY?

I have already disabled / turned off the phishing filter.
I had installed skype, which automatically installed some plug --- turned that off.
I've looked at setting as best I could... I don't see anything else to disable, turn off?

But its really slow to load a page... any page.
I go to google, do a search and it takes 5 seconds plus to see the results?!

I did notice on TF, it displays the google ads at the top very slow, about a 2-3 second pause after the page loads.

Seriously, there must be a setting I'm missing, IE7 can't be this slow to display a page.

I'm about to load firefox and ie 6 again.

thanks

Firefox FTW!

i dunno, Larry. IE moves slow for me, too, and I don't even use IE7.

yes, yes, I know... IE sucks, FF rules....

But Microsoft can't be that bad....
((lets not make this a soap box, a rant about browsers.))

there MUST be a fix, setting, something I've missed!!!!

Maybe my computer has some weird new setting? program?
I only have norton systemworks, -- no ghost, backup crap on.
I'll load up FF soon and see if its faster, if not -- I guess my PC has an issue or something causing things to slow down.

thanks

okay... loaded latest firefox --- its fast, acts normal.
so not the PC

anyone else have ideas, solutions on how to improve IE 7's performance or slow browsing problems?

I don't see what everybody's problem with IE is... I have IE7, and I've never had a problem with it =\. I like it more than FF or Opera, TBH.

Anyway... Are you sure like a firewall you have isn't blocking it? Because I used ZoneAlarm Security Suite for a while, and it made IE go so slow trying to load...

I only have XP's firewall and my sonicwall firewall....
but I've not had any other problems, only with IE.

I'm not knocking IE.... I'm just trying to figure out why mine is slow.
:)

your not the only one sayings "i've seen no problems"
I'm not the only one saying "IE is slow"

I'm pretty sure there is a cause for both :)

thanks

I've had the same problem with IE, but like everyone else, I just moved to Firefox because of that.

Mozilla's Firefox and Thunderbird are great alternatives :D

They have much more features anyway, and they are both very user friendly. :)

I love firefox
