Web Browsing problems

Okay, for some odd reason, if I try to access specific sites, my internet explorer closes. The window just disappears. I cannot access the Yahoo! Games site without it closing. I've tried downloading "Mozilla FoxFire" and it does the same thing. I'm not really sure what it is.. would any of you have any idea?

It gets a little annoying because even if a site is loading for too long, it closes. It doesn't give any notice (box popping up etc.), just disappears.

Could it be something that has to do with my computer? It never did this in the beginning...

Re-install JAVA. Go here: www.java.com

Okay, I tried to reinstall Java and I got to where it was "Copying New files". It doesn't even get to half way and a box pops up that says

Error 1606. Could not access network location. http://java.sun.com/webapps/download/GetFile/1.4.2_06-b03/Windows-i586/ja142000.cab.

I tried hitting retry and the same message came up.

Check start>settings>control panel>add/remove programs

and make sure JAVA runtime environment is uninstalled.

I checked, and it's uninstalled, should I reboot and try again?

You could try that. Maybe someone else knows if this is caused by JAVA or something else.

You could also post a HiJackthis log in the Hijackthis forum.

Okay, thank you so much I will try rebooting and see if that works.
