Vivaldi: the new kid on the block

Chrome already dumped NPAPI plugins months ago...and it didn't adversely affect it's userbase as far as I've seen ;).

The difference is that Chrome already had built in alternatives to existing plugins and has many things in place to replace plugins. But Mozilla doesn't have this and did not come up with any solution they have nothing and will continue to do so basically Mozilla Firefox might as well be a old obsolete piece of crap browser like Internet Explorer

The only alternative they had/have was Flash (pepperflash I believe). Java, MS plugins (Silverlight), etc. all don't have alternatives on Chrome.

It's a security reason, as well as a future-development version moving towards API's rather than plugins (especially plugins for insecure software such as Java and Flash).

Yes it is true that Chrome does not have Silverlight or anything like that but you can still watch YouTube videos on it and DRM content such as Netflix and Hulu and also Google Play content. Firefox needs outside plugins to do the same thing and they have nothing to fill in the gap created by this move to get away from plugins they have absolutely nothing lined up for Linux users considering Netflix and DRM HTML5 nor do they have anything lined up to replace Flash except for shumway which has no DRM flash support so basically the only thing it's good for is watching the occasional YouTube video but if you use services like Netflix Hulu Amazon Prime and Google play it will be next to useless. But if you're a Windows user then you will have access to this type of thing because like any other web browser out there Microsoft Windows comes first and like anything else Firefox has sold out to the devil not giving a crap about Linux fans and crippling everything for the Linux user all favoring Microsoft Windows. Mozilla is no better than Chrome in fact they are worse as they go underneath the false pretense standing up for open source and freedom
