ftp 2 http site

i was actually looking for a way to transfer stuff from an ftp to space on a webserver or any other free large storage web services available -like for instance walla, megaupload, freedrive, yousendit etc. - as long as i can then download via the http protocol. is there any way round this?
can anyone help?

i'm not quite sure if i get what your saying but if the site only supports http uploading then that's what your gonna have to do.

download all the files from your ftp site and upload them via http.

i dont want to download them to me other wise l wouldnt need to put them on http webserver
thing is that i can access http with t3 line, so all the money is to tranfer my friends stuff (thats on ftp) on a webserver and then get them via http from my t3 line

I dont really understand - this is what i think you are asking:
> my friend has uploaded files to an ftp webserver can i download them via http rather than ftp?

My answer:
Why do you need to download them via http? windows has built in ftp software and even if you dont want to use that most browsers are capable of dealing with ftp.

try connecting using the http:// prefix rather than ftp:// and see if you connect. the server may allow http access anyway. but i really dont see why you cant use ftp.

you want to take the files from an ftp site and move them to a webserver?
That is not supported anymore, there used to be a way to do it but most place have disabled that option.

The only way now is to download each file locally and then upload them to the other site.

ok here is the whole situation so i can help to understand.

i have access to a few ftps that i could enter and could download from iexplorer. before a week from now the system administrator blocked ftp access, we can only enter http sites. in order to download the stuff i have on the ftps, i must figure a way to bring all those stuff i have on the ftps to a place where i can reach them. and that would be an http server since there is no limitations when downloading via the http protocol...
thats it, any ideas?

nope, your sol if you can only access http now. Unless you can get access the files elsewhere and transfer them, of the person running the ftp site also has an http server running and can move the files into a browseable directory.
