Speed Test help

Can you set your download speed to the max like if you have 219 kbps(my download speed is extremely slow) you can download nearly that speed, but my download is far that speed its only about 40-50kbps. I ask this because on my other ISP our max download speed in speed test is only 120kbps but if I will download something, it will reach 100kbps per second.

1st of all what package do you have with your ISP?
if you have a 1mbps package your max download might reach 100-128kilobytes if you go to Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test you can see your download and upload speed try to use the yellow pyramid because it is the nearest test point from your location.

Does the download speed tells you how much speed you can get when downloading a file?

Sppedtest is jsut the optimal speed. IT is teh fastest you can get. It is not what you will get.

Check out my topic on it there. SpeedTest is just the max you will get for download. It is not what you will get everytime when downlaoding from a server.
