I have 56k modem in my computer and i have a basic dial up with AOL. Now i was wondering if there is anything that i can do do make it faster without upgrading to cable/dsl or what ever.Is there anything i can do? I have a firewall running and i check for spyware often and scan for viruses so that isnt an issue. Thank You for support.

This is such a common question....
and ive answered this x no. of times, where x is a rather large number :D
anyway, rather than writing an essay..

and 98% of the time.. this answers your question and usually.. reality bites...

in the end.. broadband is the way forward my friend...

umm yeah.. get rid of AOL and ull see a dramatic speed increase... lol.. AOL prolly gets no better than 28.8 kbps connections...

Yeah, if you can get cable or DSL in your area, that is the way to go. SBC Yahoo DSL is pretty cheap these days. If not, I would look at cable options. Dial-up is a thing of the past, and there are all these commercials that hype these accelerators that supposedly speed it up, but people need to realize that its time to move forward. If you must stay on dial-up, get rid of AOL, it is the worst, slowest of them all.

aol and dial-up?

i don't think there is anything worse in this world :)

check in to some broadband.
