Skype and Bandwidth usage

Hi I am contemplating whether or not to let my neighbors use my internet connection.

One of them uses Skype . I noticed that it is always on on hi Mac. is this a bandwidth hog?

I have a good DSL connection but am pretty anal about my bandwidth.

It depends on how many calls they make with Skype if it will be a hog. For a few calls you are only talking about a few MB (As far as i know) But if that is their main source of communication with the outside. Then it can get hefty.

Plus you dont know if they will download anything. They might say that they wont then do it. Since it isnt their connection they wont get into trouble.

whatta nice guy!, anyway...i use skype all the time but i got no idea as to how much bandwidth i use...

but if your that worried about it why not consider this BitMeter - Reviews and free BitMeter downloads at Download.com it allows your to monitor your bandwidth usage. If you want to measure their's you might have to keep in track with how much you download your self though!.
