Saving Archives

I use Yahoo Messenger but want to uninstall it. Only thing is, I want to keep the archives, which you can only access through the main screen of the program. When I try to get the archives from the Program Files >> Yahoo way, they open in a code which is unreadable.

I would just copy them all into an email but then the emoticons aren't visible. Is there any way I can save the archives, including emoticons into a document and save it as an attachment to an email?

are the archives on your pc? (i dont use yahoo) , if so try programfiles--> Yahoo--> and look for the files , if they are encrypted however there is not much you can do i dont think
