I have no idea if this is in the right forum so sorry, but my question is about how craigslist works (or rather, how to circumvent its inability to work).
I frequently see ads I would like to respond to, but they are normally flagged by spammers. Often, I get the ad open, click to reply, and am informed that the ad has been flagged so i cannot respond to it. Is there anyway I can still respond to it?
For instance, take this ad as an example
beach cruiser wanted - w4m
If you click reply, you are given the email "sbcsr-4360714653@pers.craigslist.org"
the "4360714653" part of the redirecting email is obvious as it is in the URL, but the "sbcsr" appears to be randomly generated. I'm not very tech savy, but is there anyway to figure out what that random string of numbers is if all you have is the number portion that is visible in the URL?
Or alternatively, if anyone has any better idea as to how you can reply to an ad after it has been flagged, I'm all ears. Thanks.
