opera's "about:config"

I am a new opera user, and I am having trouble figuring something out. Help would be appreciated!

I really don't enjoy the autocomplete thing that opera tries to do as you're typing in an address, so I went to change the setting in opera:config. But it won't save the setting. Is there some secret way to save settings changed? Cause I've tried it multiple times and whatever I change reverts to the default when I open opera back up.

P.S. this is opera 9.5, installed from their rpm on fedora core 8.

P.P.S. Sorry if this is a lame question, I did a search on the googly and I couldn't find anything. Also, I really like opera, so don't get the wrong impression.

What settings specifically? I dont have much experience with Opera on Fedora. But i will test it on My Rig and see if i can figure it out for you.
