From North America to South America

I recently moved from the USA to Peru in South America, and I brought my laptop with me. The place I moved into has a broadband internet connection.

The problem is that my internet browsers do not seem to detect my internet connection.

Skype works, but Firefox, Explorer, iTunens, and Aim all say that they cannot find the server.

Any help would be very appreciated.

Proxy problem? Did you have to use a proxy before? If so, you need to change the settings. If not, you made need to now... contact the ISP and find out.

I have to say, I am not familiar with proxy settings. If I could be guided in the slightest on how to configure these settings I´d appreciate it. Thanks Trotter for the quick response.

You will have to contact your ISP to find out what settings, if any, are needed.

I don't mess much with proxies, but I know some ISPs use them. Earthlink did.
