Default Needing another FTP client

I had the older version of filezilla but seem to have misplaced it. I have the current version but it's not working correctly. It keeps going round and round with my host but never retrieves the directory. I've tried the current version a few months ago and just got a fresh copy and tried again. I can't get it to work like the older version did. No, I don't want to fool with it so please don't ask me to check this and that. If I dink with my host connection I get locked out and have to contact my host to get it unlocked.

Is there any other FREE FTP client that is worth a flip?

WinSCP https://winscp.net/eng/index.php

Or just use File Explorer to FTP.

I need to get in the back end of my forum so I can remove some backups and old files. I can hit the ftp backend but it seems to not be able to retrieve the directory. I tried the one you linked to and it's doing the same thing. Think I need to get up with my host?

And how do you ftp with file explorer? Never heard of that.

I opened a ticket with my host. I'm wondering if they changed something.

I got word back that filezilla doesn't play well with SSL and to disable it. I have no clue how to do that.
