Need help downloading vidoes from websites

I used watch a video on IE and then go to Tool,Interent options, Browser histoy settings, view files and be able to copy/paste the video to my computer from my cookies as a flash object.

Now I recently got a new laptop, but now for some reason that wont work anymore. I dont know if its because of Vista or if something is wrong with my setting.

If anybody has any ideas how to fix this, or other ways to download videos, then please post. Thanks for any help.

I use Replay AV. It's not free but you can capture pretty much any video you can watch.

I use videodownloader, an add-on for Firefox. It adds a little icon to your status bar. Load a video and then click the icon and it let's you download it as a .flv file. Then download an FLV player from some free software company.
