Mp3 Download Problem

Hello,
Over the last few days I have noticed that whenever I try to download an mp3 from any site it suddenly changes to an mpeg. Has anybody any idea why this is?

nope!, After download its an mpeg, and a corrupted mpeg at that!.
However if I change the exe to .mp3 it plays fine...

exe? i thought you said it changes to a mpeg?

you might want to run some virus and spyware scans 1st and then go from there.

Ive ran spybot,Adaware,CS Shredder and Ive just completed a scan with Norton 2005, they all show no problems. This is really odd...

After you download what? Is it an mpeg or .exe??

Sorry, when I said Exe i ment extention. When the file has downloaded it is an Mpeg. You can actualy see the file change when the download starts, The mp3 extention changes to an mpeg one.

I recon it may be your music player winamp, Itunes, Wmedia player, or whatever you use.

hmm have u tried opening it with WMedia player ??

have u made sure that when u go to save the file its a mp3 not mpeg ?
