Microsoft Bashes Google's Chrome-in-IE Plan

Leave it to Google to find new and interesting ways to **** off Microsoft.

In addition to reiterating the security risks associated with running what she called "a browser within a browser," Barzdukas said that using Chrome Frame also interferes with the private-browsing and clear-browser-history features within Internet Explorer 8. "That is not made clear," Barzdukas said. "That is a trade-off that customers would really want to make with eyes wide open."

Microsoft did not bash it. They said that it makes IE less secure.

Google Responds to Microsoft's Bashing

Steve told you about how Microsoft is quite unhappy with Google's "Chrome-in-IE" plan and lashed out at Google. As can be expected, Google isn't about to let MS have the last word and fired back. Don't make me pull this computer over!

"Accessing sites using Google Chrome Frame brings Google Chrome's security features to Internet Explorer users," said a Google spokesman today. "It provides strong phishing and malware protection, absent in IE6, robust sandboxing technology [in IE6 and on Windows XP], and defenses from emerging online threats that are available in days rather than months."
