If your thinking of the best IM Application it depends on what Service your with. Another one I use is Gaim which supports different mail services like AIM, ICQ (Oscar protocol), MSN Messenger, Yahoo!, IRC, Jabber, Gadu-Gadu, SILC, Novell GroupWise Messenger, Lotus Sametime, and Zephyr networks.

Cyber Hunter -> GG (gadu-gadu) is a polish Messanger ! It's a popularity IM

I use Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo messenger and Gtalk by Google..
