loosing connection

I will be on the net or playing a game and all the sudden i will lose my internet connectin and then it will come back 5- 10 min later.I go to network connections and sometimes one or both of the little blue screens are greyed out when i click fix connection it says unable to renew ip addresse.A friend was over with his router from a differnt town the other day to do some gaming and now he is having the same problem any ideas

I pinged my computer and it looks like I am not loosing the connection more like my computer is stoping it some place.I called my internet provider and they said evrything was fine on their end
help i am lost

It is starting to look like a packet lose thing any idea how to fix it

Are you running a firewall? Which one?

What browser are you using? Any others?

Have you tried reinstalling your TCP/IP settings.
Or network driver?
