Allright, so a family member installed Java on the computer and it turns out I got a virus because of it. My anti-virus couldnt delete the virus so I had to go into the directory and delete the files manually. Don't know if this guarantees they'll be gone for good though. Also, yesterday I couldnt open FireFox. I think it was because of Java since the little Java icon appeared in the taskbar. So, Is Java safe? Is there any way to completely remove it so there are 0 traces left? Thanks for all the help.

did you go in to safe mode to remove the virus?

many websites use java to browser there site so it's good to have.
if you want to remove just go to your add/remove and take it out.
java is safe, but if you go to a crack or porn site you are bound to run in to problems like this.
i suggest going in to safe mode and running spyware and anti virus check uninstall old java and firefox.
reinstall firefox and then download new java from here

things should be ok after that.

I had to manually delete the viruses. Im pretty sure they're gone now since Ive done a few scans and nothing comes up. Had to go into the directory(Example: My program files) and delete them manually. I dont think Im going to use Java anymore. I disabled Java in Firefox. I dont go to porn sites or try to hack anything, the virus just appeared in the Java's cache all of a sudden.

ive always got viruses with Java Sun...they are called JS:WHATEVER and there are lot of them,but i never had troubles to delete it and ive read on some antivirus sites that they are not dangerous(though a virus always suc*).It says to delete manually in cache folder.But ive never figured what was the cause of this
