IP Address Question

I post on a message board and one of the moderators doesn't like me and in one of his posts he tells me about another message board I post on with the handle I use. He tells the exact handle on two different boards that I use but I have never posted that information before. For example, I use "Pete Mitchell" here and on another message board I use "mitch79" and the moderator wrote in his post :

"To bad they don't like "mitch79" either."

How in the world could he know this information about me? The two boards are so far removed from each other it isn't even funny.

How do you think the moderator got that information about me?

My guess is that he just tracked down your IP address, and it's such a hard thing to do.
In a simple code on a web page you can tell what is the user
IP address.
Next time try to use proxy surfing web sites to hide your identity

Your cookies!

You could register on the forums under new names and delete your browser cookies everytime you log of each of the sites, never log on to both at once,

any site you visit has access to the sites you have been visiting,

he could always be the moderator of both forums.

It is crazy how knows so much "inside" information about me. Like handles I use on other boards and what I do on those other boards. I know he cannot be the moderator at another board because the two boards are complete opposites of each other. And plus, there is no way he could know that it was me posting.
