Internet-crash when saving IE favorites

Let's try an old favorite (how apropriate )

Enter you system folder and file wininet.dll
Rename wininet.dll to wininet.dl
Hit F5
A new fresh wininet.dll should appear.

Let me know how this goes

It did go well, a fresh wininet did appear by doing so

.................but still, the crashes have continued after, its still ModName wininet.dll who is listed

so i guess im gonna try install IE 7, and if thath doesnt work perhaps a repair-reinstall of Win XP is motivated..and if thath still doesnt work either perhaps suicide is motivated :tired:

Another possible fix:

Uninstall Java, reboot, delete the java folder, reinstall java, reboot and see if that corrects the problem

Use IEradicator - the Internet Explorer Hitman! then reinstall IE6

If those two don't work out, install IE7, then check, if no error, uninstall, and see if IE6 still throws it at you.

tested and none worked unfortentley..so i installed IE 7

and the crashes seem to have stopped finally...wonder if i infact can start get use to this version and replace it..can't tell right now :freak:

if i change my mind, next thing must be to test repair whole Win XP, ore in worst case reinstall XP fully?

I'd stick with it if I were you. Your not considered "fully updated" without it.
