Internet Connectivity?

Hello All,

I have a question about my internet connection. I have Road Runner (in Rochester, NY) and I upgraded from Lite speed to Turbo Speed. They say that I should be getting 30 Megabytes/second and I am only getting 13.5 Megabytes/second. They have checked my computer and everything and saying that there is too much crap on it. What should I do?

You will get up to 30Mb/s. That is not the speed you will get at all times. That is the top speed when there is no activity on the line back to the hub. Your taking speed measurements on a Sunday Afternoon when everyone is off from work and home, most likely on their PC. Road Runner is not a dedicated line to just you. The line is shared by everyone around you that also uses Road Runner. Add into that the distance from the main hub and you get the speed average you mention.

You will not always get 30Mb/s. You have to realize that up front. That is only at like 2AM on a weekday when there is little to no activity.
