Improving internet speed?

I would have to agree. I am on cable. A 4MB package.

Even going across teh country to Cali i still got great speeds. Above what my package is rated for.

I'm on cable too, 6mb down/2mb up package.

WOW!!! Im calling comcast in the morning.

don't bother, they'll just tell you to power cycle the modem, might ping it and say they're reading a low signal level, will send a tech out who'll hook up his modem and laptop to your cable line and get a 20mb speedtest reading and then tell you the problem is with your computer.

This is exactly what happened to me. 3 days after this happened I went and bought a router so we could hook up our XBox 360 and ever since I installed the router I get download speeds that are over 15x faster than they are w/o the router.

its crazy that i have better upload speeds than the majority of the cable users here.

but your d/l speed is just barely better than your upload, and with both being under 2mb/s that's nothing to brag about.
