IE and ZA

Recently I installed IE6;

Zone Alarm never asks permission for Internet Explorer to access the Internet, it just lets it work away;

I guess it is working through Explorer which has access allowed in Zone Alarm;

but I am sure it always had its own access the last time I was using IE with ZA;

the Explorer icon is active in ZA but there is no IE icon.

I wouldn't recommend using Zone alarm. It has a lot of issues IMO.

Also, unless you need IE for specific web apps, I suggest you switch over to Firefox or Opera (now free)
