how to sign out of all instances of gmail and facbeook

I had to sign in to Gmail and Facebook from my friend's mobile today. I couldnt figure out how to sign out from the damn things. I was using the browser not the apps.

I closed the browser windows. Does that mean I'm signed out?

Either way I'd like to sign out of all instances that I may have open. Is there a way of doing this? I believe when I sign out from my terminal that only signs out the current instance, not them all. Correct?

If you didn't check the "Remember me" or "Stay signed in" box then you won't stay signed in if you had closed the browser.
