first off, i'm a newbie to this whole computer thing, so be nice... my question may seem stupid or fundamental, but try to understand...

k, i'm trying to buy a birthday present for a special someone, but i think i might have a problem concealing my online shopping for it. u see when i use interenet explorer, it remembers the sites i've typed in up top at the search bar. Now i'm afraid that if she ever wants to go to a webpage that starts w/ the same first letter of the site that i've been shopping on, she'll see that i've been looking at this website. THis would ruin the surprise because this is one of her favorite stores, and she would know that i was shopping for her on that site. how do i disallow Internet Explorer to show websites i've previously visited (not in the history, but showing up on the search bar)?

P.S. also, how do i erase any existing saved websites on the search bar? originally i forgot to mention this, but the website i don't want her to see is already on Internet Explorer

Hahahaha sorry, This was wicked when I fist used computers and every guy in the world came to me to ask me this question. The fun part was me"hiding porn from the wife?' them"yeah...."

start>settings>controll pannel> internet options>history>clear histroy

The empty feilds might be give away but you can slip a white lie to cover your tracks use porn! haha.

In Internet Explorer, click Tools, Internet Options, Delete Cookies, OK, Delete Files, check the box for "Delete all offline content", OK, Clear History, Yes.

And if you viewed any, ummm, "product demonstration videos", open up Windows Media Player, click "Now Playing List", Clear List, Tools, Options, Privacy tab, Clear History, Clear Caches.

Also, check your firewall. Some firewalls keep a record of sites visited. If it does, you'll have to right-click the entries (hold down Control while you do it so you can highlight all of them), click and choose Remove.

It removes all cache and cookies and stuff.

No need to worry as I have a solution of your problem. To permanently delete the record of google searches go to tools, internet options, content, autocomplete, clear forms. T o delete particular searches just choose the keyword from the drop down menu you want to delete. I was also in a problem how to save my Internet favorites.
