How can one hide on the Net? Untraceable?

Is it possible, in any way, to be untraceable online? Or is that part of the collection of illegal activity called "hacking"? Like, you see those signatures that reveal your IP and your ISP and what you're running... How would I make one of those think I'm coming off some ISP in Taiwan or something? Maybe have it think I'm using Safari on a Mac in the Far East? I've heard of something called a proxy, and they actually have proxy setup in a few programs; is that for running anonymous or something else?

Steganos make a program called Internet Anonym which you connect to the internet via it which masks ur IP but im not sure how affective it is.

There is no possible way to stay completly untracable,no matter what any body say's there is alway's a way to trace you,how do you think some of the top hacker's in the world got caught cause no matter what you do you are tracable

There are some tools that can mask your ip address, but shumway is correct. There is always a way to find you. Even more so if you are on broadband

As long as there's a connection, no matter how hard you try to hide yourself, you are ALWAYS traceable!
