hmmm, i was wondering about personnel forums

i was wondering, me and a couple of friends are starting a website containing a few Amv's and image hosting, somewhat like redvsblue, only we aren't really competing, cause what we do other then image hosting is entirely different than what they do. i was wondering were i could find a good forum creator or site that provides forums for other site o use. we don't really care about looks for the forum, just so that people signing up on our site don't have to make another account to use the forum.

I appologize for anything stupid i have just said, as i am not knolledgible on this subject.

also, do forums cost much money? and if so, what is a good rate to pay for one?

I found phpBB2 to be good.. Its all free
