FTP acces through browser with password and custom port. How?

I know how to setup an FTP server.
As far as I know my ISP blocks port 21.

I want people to be able to download/acces files from my FTP server with their browser.

I want people to fill in a username and password on my website and the browser should then open the shared folder. How do i create this in HTML or PHP? It should use a different port, 1234 for example.

I am also looking for something on the website wich indicates if the server is online/offline (status).

Any help is appreciated.

you can setup a FTP server by SER-U server!(a freeware you can download from http://www.download.com), then when you setup your FTP, you can use other ports as your FTP
ports, ont only port 21

when you friends want to login in your FTP and down your share file!
he can open his IE(microsoft internet explorer), and enter your FTP server url like this :

ftp://TheMajor:123456@202.202.157.251:1234

or

ftp://TheMajor:123456@www.themajor.com:1234


themajor is login name of your ftp server
123456 login password of your ftp server
202.202.157.251 or www.themajor.com is url or IP of your FTP
1234 is the port NO. of your FTP

I set up an FTP server like 3 days ago. It worked but I got errors when trying to open folders. All permissions were enabled.

But I am using a program rightnow. WWW File Share Pro. Its a small http server wich generates an index page so people can download shared files. It also has an upload page.

WWW File Share Pro ! yes I know, but if you use a FTP through IE, you can open paste and copy file juest like in own computer folders! so easy,so convenient

I am not sure if i will go back to FTP. But I don't want to tell people to open IE all the time.

FTP can be visited not only by IE but also by other software ,

CuteFTP Pro 3.2 for example!

Using CuteFTP Pro 3.2 , your friends can download your share files and upload his file to your FTP ,too!

Moreover , SER-U FTP server can be performed as a sevice and runed background, when your computer is opened, your friends can visited your FTP anytime!

I know but I don't want to ask them to dl an FTP client before they can send me their files. I will keep what I got now or get a better http program with upload options.
