firefox using a lot of memory

i been using firefox on both of my computers vista and xp for a long time and i noticed on my vista system it uses a lot of memory fast i can be browsing for a hour or so then everything start running slower, i opened the task manager and the memory usage be around 350k-480k but my xp system rarely gets past 60k how can i fix this?

it's whats known as a memory leak, where it uses way more memory than it should.

opened 26 tabs and stumbled each...two were pandora.....hahahah used 4mb +1mb for the optimizer of memory...thats so sick!

Click on the image or click on the upper left part where it says download. It loads up for me jsut fine in Opera, Firefox, IE8, chrome and Safari.

Can they make that into some sort of plug in/add on? I don't understand why it just isn't a part of Firefox.
