Am thinking of making the switch over to Firefox from IE. Any special tips for the switchover or setup of Firefox? Will MSN Messenger 6.2 work with Firefox? Also am currently using Outlook Express for my mail program - is there a better, more secure alternative to it to run with FF?

MSn will keep working fine. I would just install it. Its way better than IE cause it doesn't support ActiveX. You can use PocoMail instead of Outlook, that's what I am using.

you'll be fine. you've made a smart choice btw. you could use thunderbird also made by the same people. however i've never used it before.

Thanks

Installed Firefox this morning and so far I really like it. I'm going to give ThunderBird a try as a alternative to OE.

yes man welcome to the light that is no popups and smooooth sailin! i have not had a single problem and love Firefox! its pretty basic and simple, you can transfer all bookmarks ane everything.

Yeah i made the switch to firefox a few days ago and havent had any trouble at all. Its definetely faster & i havent had a single pop up yet. In fact i even had to manually allow a pop up that i wanted to get from an art site. The themes are nice also, anyone want to post thier favorite themes? Phoenity is one of the only ones i have tried.

You do need to configure Firefox tho and to do that you need the plugins, the themes, and the extensions. And those are located in these two places:
The plugins are here: http://plugindoc.mozdev.org/ and the ones you need are:
Java Plugin
Macromedia Flash Player
Macromedia Shockwave Player
QuickTime 6
Windows Media Player

For themes and extensions, the choice is really up to you, go browse the list and then ask others what they use.
Here is the link to the list: http://update.mozilla.org/?application=firefox Liz
