I want to apologize to KSOD I was out of line. What you do is a good thing helping others like myself. I think I figured out why it did that, I tried taking facebook out of my host file and then began surfing like I usually do and the annoying facebook stuff did not appear in my back button.

I've had this problem and tried all of the recommended fixes, but I believe I figured out the true fix.

Check to see what your home page actually is under Internet Options. My machine had been recently wiped clean and reset with original MS parameters, including a long microsoft dot com URL that ended with "msnhome". Once I deleted that and put in a simple msn dot com URL, the problem disappeared. Also, my browsing really speeded up.

Hope that helps!
