DSL is generally better expisally for gaming.

A good analogy is DSL is a 50meg switch and Cable is an 100meg hub. That means that you could get "100meg" on cable but if more than 2 people are on it's slower than the DSL which will always be "50meg"

DSL also usually has a higher upload speed for gaming. This is just as important as the download speed.

most the time it just comes down to the speed.

in my area dsl tops out at 1.5 down and 256 up

the cable on the other hand offers 5mb down and 512 up


there is no way i'm taking the dsl over the cable, but if they were the same speeds i would take the dsl.

most the time though cable is going to be faster
