Creating a mailing list

Ive had a quick look and cant see if this has been asked and answered before (apologies if it has!) but is there a free way of making a mailing list with peoples already established emails?

Basically Im part of a Uni club, and our Uni will only give one mailing list per club, so all members are part of that, but any chat or questions means that all members receive everything. Its not a material-sensitive issue, merely an annoyance when most of the stuff isnt relevant to most members.

So what we would like to do is create a mailing list just for the commitee, so that any questions could be emailed to this single address, but all the committee would receive the copy.
Is there any free way of doing this?

Well for mailing list's I would say go with Google groups, its free to set up an use but then you would have to get people to join up.

No thats excellent, there are only 8 of us on the committee so thats not a problem (you can actually add people directly without them even agreeing!)
