Counter strike interfering with connection?

Every time i play counter strike, and then quit, my internet connection screws up. After im done I'll quit the game, and then when i try and load pages in firefox they wont load. It just says looking up. For example, after i quit it will sit there and say "looking up google.com". Everything is fine after a restart, but i'd like to know what may be causing this. It's not spyware, because i've cleared my system with spybot search and destroy. I think it might be a problem with firefox 2.01.

The problem could be CounterStrike.

Next time, open up Task Manager and see if CS is still chugging. i know it takes BF2 a bit to wind down.

Also, check your connection status (Control Panel > Network Connections) after you play CS.

Can you at least play counter strike or does it disconnect after playing just a little bit? I'm having a problem with CSS and internet connections too in this thread http://www.techist.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=136024
