Connectivity Issue

I am experiencing a problem for sometime now. I get disconnected from the net every now and then. Even though my connection is good, basing it on the modem lights. What happens is that after sometime of being connected, my connection suddenly drops. If I restart my modem, and do ipconfig, it will show me 0.0.0.0 for Ip address. But once I restart my computer, it regains back the connection. What seems to be the problem and how can I resolve it? Hope someone can assist me.

Are you using a router as well or just a modem?

perhaps it is time to get a new modem from your isp.

im directly connected to the modem..
i can ask for another one..
but i do not see the relationship..
i restart my pc and not the modem..
after restart, i am connected again..

do you think it might be the LAN card?

You could reinstall the newest drivers for your lan card to test.

next time it drops you can also try this without restarting your computer as a test.

open a command prompt.
type:
ipconfig /release
press enter
then type:
ipconfig /renew
press enter

I think it could be your modem. Or try what Hef ^^ said, I have had this same problem happen to my in the past. But, after, i did a system recovery, my internet staid up.
