Computer freezes when viewing videos online

Anytime I view a video online, be it on google, youtube, etc. it freezes my computer within seconds. This is the ONLY problem I have with my computer. I just reformatted my hdd and upgraded to windows xp and it continues to do it. I'm running the latest version of bon echo as my web browser. Also, I can watch videos that I have downloaded to my computer perfectly fine, though I'm not sure if that even has anything to do with it.

Any suggestions as to what might be going on?? It's extremely annoying and I'd really like to get it fixed!

That was the first thing I tried. It doesn't make a difference, videos in Firefox still freeze my computer.

I've tried IE. I'm almost certain the browser is not the problem.
