We've been having a problem with the newest version of Firefox lately (eMachines T5048 PC running XP.) We've been getting popups so we went into the FF tools>content and found that the "block popups" box was unchecked. We checked it to block popup but when we close out FF, the box unchecks itself!
We tried to system restore the computer to last month but that didn't fix it either.
We uninstalled FF and reinstalled it. Now we can't even open FF. We get a box that says:
Firefox had a problem and crashed. We'll try to restore your tabs and windows when it restarts.
It gives two options; restart FF or exit. It won't restart so we exit.
We tried to uninstall FF again but this time it won't uninstall. In add or remove programs, when we click on "remove" the screen flashes but nothing happens. We're stuck with this defective program.
We don't want to reformat this computer because it has way too much stuff on it. Can anyone offer any suggestions on how to get rid of FF?
