Apple, Opera Slammed Over Browser Patch Regimes

According to this report, both Apple and Opera are lagging behind the competition when it comes to updating their browsers. Researchers are worried that slow / complicated updates will give attackers a bigger window of opportunity to launch attacks against Safari and Opera.

"All in all, the poor update effectiveness of Apple Safari and Opera gives attackers plenty of time to use known exploits to attack users of outdated browsers," the researchers wrote.

Please. Safari may have more updates, but Opera doesnt get that many updates in the first place. There is the builds of Opera 10 released but the stable version hasnt had a update in a while.

So why are they gripping about the patching system if it isnt getting patches????

If they havent released a update it is cause it isnt needed. Should they not be applauding them for not having to release updates weekly or monthly like Mozilla and IE?

Maybe i am missing the picture but last time i checked, not having updates done weekly means that the software is secure as is....
