Apache "/" directories

My server is running Apache/1.3.33 (Win32).

http://xx.xx.xx.xx/folder/
works fine and it automatically opens the index.html.

http://xx.xx.xx.xx/folder
does not work, and gives me an error in my browser:
"Can not locate http://localhost/folder"

But I did not use localhost in the URL. Can somebody tell my how to fix this? Some setting in httpd.conf?

OK. I figured it out. I changed "localhost" to my IP adress in this section of httpd.conf:

# ServerName allows you to set a host name which is sent back to clients for
