I think I might have a virus(es) on my other PC. I loaded AOL a couple days ago, it worked fine, now it won't connect. I connect through dial-up w/ that one, I haven't installed the DSL yet. There are other problems w/ the PC, it's 110 Gb hd, 512 Mb RAM and was pretty fast, then it got hit w/ pop-ups and probably a virus. What can I do to get back on the internet so I can get McAfee or something to fix the virus? Thanks.

Pop-ups are spyware/adware, not a virus.

Download SpyBot-Search & Destroy, Spybot Search and Destroy Detection Update, and Microsoft Windows Defenderon your good comp.

Copy them onto a flash drive or burn 'em on a disk and take 'em to the screwed computer. Install and run each one.

That was one of the 1st things I did when I was able to connect to the internet. Ran those and got rid of a lot of popups, but something is still seriously wrong w/ the computer. It's now slow as heck, sometimes won't open the program I click on, and I'm guessing it has a virus on it. Still won't connect to AOL...

Forgot to mention, that's a good point about using my flash drive for the programs. Can I do that w/ McAfee also? If so, wha file do I need to copy over, I'm not sure since there are so many files in the McaFee folder. Thanks!
