why does the website look ugly now?

I haven't been here as long, so I don't know what it used to look like. But, I do love the sidebar. And I agree with the poll idea, a new color scheme would be awesome.

Yes, a poll on the colors, now that it can be simply be changed by CSS, as I understand it. This just looks too plain...
